Michael Haubenstock Fine Art
Welcome friends and art collectors.
My painting has continued to evolve. I have been doing more and more with the palette knife, resulting in unusual edges and highly textured paintings. There continues to be a mix of still lifes and landscapes, with paintings from 9” x 12” to 36” x 40.” I have been doing more landscapes with the goal of capturing mood and atmosphere.
My reflection paintings continue to be unique. These feature the inside of a store or building (often high style mannequins) combined with the reflections in the glass of the scene opposite (often buildings, trees, cars, figures). In effect they are two paintings in one.
Food continues to be theme in my still life collection.I started doing food paintings many years ago when I realized it could be a fun marriage of my love of cooking and my love of painting. Much of my work has been called “kitchen art” (I will take that as a compliment).
For me, painting has become a passion. It continues to be fun and challenging. I get great satisfaction from creating joy and a memorable piece of art, whether for my walls or the walls of others.
